On May 13th, Tentenso was invited by the China International Trade Promotion Committee to attend the "2024 Global Trade and Investment Promotion Summit" held at the prestigious Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. The theme of this summit was "Trust and Cooperation: Choices in a Changing Landscape". Over 750 influential delegates, including leaders of international organizations, economic institutions, foreign business associations, global trade promotion agencies, and representatives from Chinese and foreign enterprises, participated in the event.

Vice President Han Zheng attended the meeting and delivered the opening speech.

 

Han Zheng emphasized that Chinese President Xi Jinping has repeatedly pointed out that in the face of risks and challenges, countries should work together, adhere to the principle of win-win cooperation, and promote common development worldwide. China will continue to expand high-level opening-up and share development dividends with all parties.

 

Han Zheng pointed out that the current global economic recovery faces tests, with both development opportunities and risks. Only by steadfastly promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, effectively safeguarding the resilience and stability of global industrial and supply chains, can cooperation bonds be tightened and mutual benefits expanded. It is necessary to seize the opportunities of the new round of technological and industrial revolutions, strengthen technological innovation and sharing, jointly explore new areas, create new models, and foster new growth points with a more open and innovative mindset and measures. Genuine multilateralism should be practiced to uphold the multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core, promote the construction of an open world economy, and facilitate inclusive economic globalization.

 

The theme of this summit focused on the current trends in international trade and economic development, characterized by the era and China's characteristics. Under the theme of "Trust and Cooperation: Choices in a Changing Landscape", the plenary session focused on "Building Win-Win Chains by Connecting Supply Chains", with three parallel forums addressing "Sharing Opportunities of Chinese Modernization to Build a Better World Together", "Gathering Strengths from the Business Community to Turn the 'San Francisco Vision' into Reality", and "Igniting the Engine of Artificial Intelligence to Empower Economic and Social Development".
